Should we bid this construction tender? Get a straight go or no-go.

For UK contractors looking at minor works, M&E and maintenance tenders on Find a Tender and Contracts Finder. A person reads the notice and the tender pack and tells you in writing whether it is worth your bid team's time, usually within about one business day once the paid service opens.

How it would work

A manual check, done by a person. Not software.

  1. Send the tender

The Find a Tender or Contracts Finder link, plus the tender pack if you have it.

  2. Tell us about your firm

Turnover, accreditations, insurance levels, typical job size and where you work. Once, then reused.

  3. We read it by hand

Selection criteria, pass/fail questions, contract terms and timetable are checked against your profile.

  4. You get a written go / no-go

A short note: the verdict, the blockers, the questions to raise with the buyer, and what a bid would need.

What the check looks at

Construction criteria, not generic tender advice.

01

Pass/fail gates

CHAS, SSIP or Constructionline requirements, minimum turnover ratios, insurance levels (employer's, public and professional liability), and any trade body membership the buyer insists on.

02

Contract risk

TUPE on maintenance contracts, framework vs one-off works, lots, contract length, mobilisation dates, retention and payment terms where the pack shows them.

03

Procurement Act 2023 flags

Exclusion grounds and the debarment list, KPI publication on contracts over £5m, and notice-regime points that affect your timetable, flagged in the written check.

The check is a commercial read of public documents. It is not legal advice and does not replace your own review.

Three examples from live public notices

What a first read looks like.

These are first reads from the public Contracts Finder notice only (published October 2026, Open Government Licence v3.0). A full check would also read the tender pack. They show the format, not advice on whether you should bid.

Plainly

This is an early interest list.

The paid check is not for sale yet. We are testing whether UK construction and maintenance contractors want it. If enough firms join, we will open a small manual service. The planned price is around £79–99 per tender, but that is a plan, not an offer. If there is not enough interest, we will close the test and delete the list.

Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We will only email you about this test.
